In spite this, He does want a little help with grooming off Mama - use a pet brush and stroke and play with them until they are comfortable with it. This is also a good time to check for any fleas, parasites, red spots, or bald patches! - go to the vet to seek advice. Check your kittens mouth regularly so they get use to you handling it. (that will make it easier if you ever need to give them any medication) Their teeth should be clean and deposit- free. And gums should be a healthy pink colour. I find that dry food is good for strengthening the teeth and includes calcium (the Whiskas one I get does anyway) - although Panda loves the wet food especially with gravy, so he gets treated to both.
Kittens nails are very sharp - I have the scratches to prove it!! But it's important to keep them in good condition. A scratching post acts as a nail file, but when they're older they will need clipping to keep them trim (I haven't done this to Panda yet - He is only 7 months).
